Overnight, we received another 5" of snow. It does look pretty, but we'd rather have spring! One good thing weather-wise is that the temps are gradually rising so the snow will melt and best of all, my lower level sewing room will be somewhat warmer, especially with the sun shining! So, I will soon be working on some UFOs!!!
Christmas and New Year is over. The tree and decorations have been taken down and stored. There has been quite a bit of snow where we live (and many other areas also). I've been out once since Christmas and have accomplished nothing but reading books, knitting and napping since I came down with a cold around New Year's Day. Yuck.........not fun. I miss quilting and have a lot that I could be doing quilt-wise..........except, my sewing room is in the lower level which is rather chilly for someone half-sick. Maybe I'll sew next week? Hopefully, the sun will shine tomorrow which will help energize me! Back to the knitting project for now.......... Stay warm and healthy!
Christmas is near!!!! Much of our snow has melted due to the freezing rain last night. Maybe we will get another dusting of snow to make it prettier? That would be nice! The sour cream coffee cake has been made and taste tested (yummy!). The Lebkuchen cookies will be baked tomorrow, having been in the fridge for the last week to enhance the spicy taste. I will bake another batch of Snickerdoodle cookies tomorrow (to give away). Wrapping is nearly finished (on what we have purchased so far). Tomorrow will get a few last things and wrap immediately. Oh, the scents of Christmas, .........and the memories......... One thing I really miss at Christmas time is the patter of little feet throughout the house....first our own two children who grew up and had their own. Now the grandchildren are nearly grown (two in college and two in grade school). When they were little, we baked cookies together, made ornaments, wrapped packages, and most fun of all, decorated the tree! Oh, the memories! I hope you and yours have a wonderful Christmas which will make many happy memories! Karen
I made this table mat a couple of years ago.......I really love the fabrics that I used and will always cherish this piece. So far, I haven't made Christmas quilts, runners or even mug rugs....but there is still a little time for a few gifts to be made. It has been quite cold where we live so my lower level sewing room is too chilly to sew. Hope you're enjoying the pre-Christmas holiday season!
